June's Brownies

Cream the butter and sugar until smooth, then add salt and Kahlua. Melt butter, remove from heat, stir in cocoa. Mix this lump into the butter-sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Mix in flour, then fold in chips.

Spread carefully into a square 8" x 8" or 9" x 9" pan that you have buttered well and dusted with cocoa. Bake at 350° (325° for pyrex pans) for 35 minutes. Do not overbake. Center will still be "wet" and sides not pulled away. Cool until stone cold, then cover with tin foil and hide it away. Let age for 2-7 days. Cut into small squares to serve. Trust me--it needs to age.
