1 cup all purpose flour
3 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup stone ground fine white cornmeal
1 egg
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1/4 cup melted butter
Stir together flour, baking powder, soda and salt in a medium bowl. Stir in cornmeal. Beat egg until foamy, then add the buttermilk and blend. Add to cornmeal and mix. Stir in butter.
Turn into a well greased 9x9x1 3/4" pan. Bake in preheated 425° oven until sides shrink and top is lightly browned--about 25 minutes.
