Have you photographs of Birthday Parties past? Anecdotes of events or conversations there? A writing workshop breakthrough to recount? Private moments you can describe? Here's an opportunity to use them in a contribution to our next publication.
A look backward and forward on this our 30th anniversary seems appropriate for this year's theme. Please send us your one-page memories of your past adventures at the Sitting Room, the always fascinating present moment, or your hopes and plans for the future.
As usual, all genres--story telling, letters, poems, plays, etc.--will be welcome. Given our theme, visuals are especially welcome. Karen Petersen imagines a kind of scrapbook of photos and drawings as a special section, or perhaps interspersed. If you have other ideas, or want to volunteer on the editorial staff, boxcar@sonic.net.
This is not a juried publication. ALL contributions are published, provided they meet the requirements below and address the theme. You can find previous Annuals on the Sitting Room Publications shelf in the big room behind the kitchen.
HOW TO SUBMIT:
Deadline is April 1, 2012.
Writings:
Electronic submissions are preferred (Word DOC. or Open Office.)
Please, no RTF. Do nor paste your work in the body of e-mail. These take enormous time to redo.

Send submissions and cover sheet as attachments to: boxcar@sonic.net
Cover Sheet in separate file: Name, address, phone, e-mail
Submission: Title and author centered at the top of the page
Margins: 1 1/2 inches on both sides of page to accomodate binding
Typeface: Times Roman, 12 point
Spacing: Single or double space, as you desire
Length: One page. Get permission from the editor before supbmitting two pages, the maximum.
Poems: Layout as you wish, within bounds of the stated margins. e.g.,Center, if preferred.
Art and Photographs:
Electronic submissions in JPG format are preferred. Send as attachments to boxcar@sonic.net
Black and white only, so convert your photographs accordingly.
Margins: 1 1/2 inches on both right and left sides of page to accomodate binding
If you absolutely cannot provide an electronic submission, mail with cardboard backing in a large envelope:
