THE OEUVRE

Godden wrote sixty books during her career, Nine were made into films. Her major works continue to be published. A large subset of her writing was for children, and they are used in English schools today. She won The Whitbread Award for Children's Literature in 1972 and was awarded the OBE in 1993. She also co-authored stories with her sister Jon Godden.
